What’s the greatest vacation you’ve ever had?

What was the very best trip you ever had, that you loved so much that you wanted it to last forever.

As far as my personal experience it would be on the Oregon coast in a rented house with all my brothers and their wives and my parents and all the kids. It’s rare to almost unimaginable in our busy lifestyles in getting the whole family like that together nowadays unless it’s for something gloomy like death in the family. So, just for us wannabe stockbrokers & beachcombers, clam diggers,explorers & scientists to all get together. To not all b*tch or say snide remarks behind backs and all enjoyed everyones company. It was a great vacation and maybe one that only comes around every 10-years or so. I look forward to having one like it again someday.
The cruises and the destinations didn’t really matter though I loved St. Thomas! They were fabulous…you could do as much or as little as you want to do. You see many port cities. There are activities on the ship no matter what time of day or night. You are waited on hand and foot…they even have a midnight buffet! A cruise is the only way to vacation!
I’ve yet to take a real vacation.

When I was about 10 years old, my Dad made a big announcement at dinner … 2 weeks on Sanibell (sp?) Island off the coast of Flordia. "Great Dad, what’s there?" " Um, well nothing."
We were major bummed. You’d think going there was like going to the dentist’s office.
We had the best darn time. Just two weeks of waking up with an ocean and miles of beach in front of you … it was complete heaven.
I wish for a vacation like that again. No sight seeing, just sit, vegitate and recharge … day and night, we were on that beach playing, swimming … exploring.
That was the best two weeks of my life and I’ve had some fun times. Gawd, I wish I could do that again.

In 1984 I went to Hawaii for a month. Oh it was heaven and someday I will live there. I love the ocean and the warm balmy days. It rains daily but only for a little while and then its warm and wonderful.

My boyfriend took me to Hawaii, he grew up there originally because his dad was in the military. We somehow made it on the military base and he showed me the house he grew up in which is some historical landmark now, his high school, where he worked and hung out when he was a kid. He took me around the entire island showing me all the tourist and even the local places. We also went to the Polynesian Culture Center which is like the Hawaiian Disneyland. I even saw the most perfect sunset ever, great vacation! I need another!
