Africa, a place that is naturally endowed with species that it exclusively owns.

The mere sound of the name rings bells of adventure, exploration, realization and hunting. Because of the diversity of hunting safari, it offers as much opportunities for hunting fanatics to explore a range of ecological areas that have their own specialties.

Well, it’s hard to imagine how we can exactly describe the purity of Africa. It is safe though to tell you that it is filled with rich resources of plain animals suited for game, predators that follow after their kill, animals grazing on fertile and unspoiled lands and others.

The game aside, Africa gathers the largest, most dense and extreme concentration of plant species and strange animals that seem to have come directly from the sixth day of the creation.

Now going to the bird, at any given time of the year, a single national park can contain an average of 300 to 500 bird species, which make Africa not only a haven of species but also a paradise for naturalists and ornithologists.

The plant and tree species are also diverse that it is impossible to record them all. Some species are as old as several thousand years ago, which again seemed to be the direct link to the Creator.

Al these combined (and the mixture of other components), Africa is one big paradise for man and the creations to enjoy. To flourish and to experience the circle of life. The dance that plays with each organism and specie. And the life that sets the balance between the created and the wardens.

As for the hunting safari, Africa boasts the most excellent sites and species that fuel man’s passion for hunting animals in their natural habitats. Though hunting is restricted in some national parks, local governments still assigned African hunting safaris where varieties of games are enjoyed but in accordance with ethical restrictions.

Some common hunting safari animals in Africa are: black wildebeest, gemsbuck, red hartebeest, springbuck, waterbuck, bushbuck, zebras, antelopes, eland, steenbuck, rhebuck, impala, blue wildebeest, warthog, kudu and many other species.

In African hunting safaris, the most common method used is the rifle hunting. However, although it is popular enough there are still unsettled issues concerning the caliber of the rifle. Please check on the guidelines as suggested by you tour operator.

Next to the rifle hunting is the bow hunting, which for the present is not as customarily used as the rifle hunting. Experts see the future of bow hunting though as the standard to restrict any other issues that must be dealt with the more common form of hunting.

The bottom bar (The ones that have Safari and Photo Booth on it) How do i make it stay up? I accidentally pressed something and it wont stay up anymore.

Hello Maria,

That bottom bar is called the Dock. If you move your mouse pointer down to the bottom where the Dock is, it should pop right up for you to access.

You make all of your changes through the System Preferences. That’s the icon with the gears, usually found on the dock, but you can also access them from the Apple menu up at the top-left of your computer screen. It’s Apple > System Preferences… menu command that will bring the System Preferences up.

Under the Personal heading, click on the Dock icon. At the bottom, uncheck the Automatically hide and show the Dock check box. This will keep the dock up for easy access. You can also adjust the size as well as great animated effects that the icons do on the Dock.

You should consider getting a book on Mac OS X. David Pogue’s "Mac OS X — The missing Manual" is my favorite. You could also consider Robin Williams’ "The Little Mac Book".

Also, consider joining a Macintosh Users Group. A Mac Users Group is an excellent resource that teaches you how to get the most from Macintosh. Go to this web site and type in your postal zip code and it will tell you where the closest Mac Users Group meets in your area.

http://www.apple.com/usergroups/find/

Best of luck.

–Rick

Ooh I love the safari idea:) Maybe use water balloons too? Don’t forget to check with the other parents about the water guns-you never know how uptight people can get when it comes to their kids playing with guns(even if they are water). You could do a pinata too-they usually have animal shaped ones:)

Hope the day is great for all of you!!!

I am planning a trip for 2009, and I am looking for a reputable company which operates african safaris for a solo traveler. I would like to latch on to a group (preferably an under 40 crowd). Thanks!

Most safari companies will take a single traveler, problem starts with accommodations as rooms are usually for two’ in that case you pay the full room rate or share.
as for safari company haven’t found one that deals specifically with singles also you did not say what country you will be traveling to.

NO TIME PLAN FOR 2009
NO SAFARIS FOR A SPECIFIC AGE SAFARIS

here is what they are saying

1.
Group trips are great for traveler’s looking to join up with others on safari. From multi-day camping trips to epic steam train journeys there are many options. These scheduled trips have set departures throughout the year.

Insider’s Tip: A single supplement is the fee solo traveler’s pay to cover the unoccupied half of their accommodations. If you are a single traveler group trips are generally the most cost effective option as they have lower single supplement costs than tailor-made safaris. In fact several of the trips below have no single supplement at all!

2.
If you’re traveling alone – expect to pay a single supplement, which may vary from nominal to almost 100% of the trip cost, depending on the logistics involved and the expertise of your safari planner. An experienced and knowledgeable safari planner can recommend a trip that offers the best value for a single traveler, sometimes even eliminating this extra charge altogether!

3.
What about traveling single?

Sure! A safari is the ideal trip for the independent traveler. Go new places – meet new people! Just be aware that many of the lodges and camps apply a single supplement. If you prefer to travel with a group, please review some of the safaris we offer which have set departure dates. If you are unsure about this, please feel free to contact us and we will gladly assist with the information you may require.

I need help with three things:

a) How do you do the brick puzzle thing inside the Giza Pyramid?
b) Where is the Gazelle on the safari photo challenge?
c) How does the costumizer work?

If you can answer all three questions correctly, (and the solutions work) I will give you Best Answer. If you just answer one or two it is okay also.

here are the answers:

a) you mean those line before the scorpion pit? those lines represent those platforms above the scorpion pit.you have to click them until they form one unbroken horizontal line.
when you have done that, you can jump up to the platforms (which will be in the same formation as those lines) and get across without having to battle the scorpion

b) its at the bottom right hnd corner (keep going to the right and down)

c) if you see a piece of clothing or hairstyle you like, click on the green t-shirt and click on the person with the item of clothing. it will take you to a screen where you can copy whatever you want

hope this helps!

I’m looking at pics, it seems like they’re always taken from the vehicle, do people get out? Obviously you’re not going to pet the animals, but to get better shots can you get out of the bus/jeep?

It depends mostly on the game park or reservation your at – most of the larger game parks are based on the self drive tourists and as such certain rules are set in place that you should remain in your vehicle at all times, for your safety as well as the safety of the animals. However just about all the large Game Parks in South Africa has designated areas where you are permitted to leave your vehicle at own risk (check the map that can be bought when you arrive at the game park), this does not mean that there can not still be dangerous animals in that particular area (I had a nasty run in with an elephant bull at a picnic site in the Hluhluwe Umfolozi game park, I was out of the car and the elephant came charging cutting me off from the vehicles, I ended up hiding behind trees and backing up tree to tree until I was out of the picnic area and into the bushes – I ended up walking through the bushes back to the car – I’ve never been that scared in my life).

You have to realize just how dangerous a wild animal can be before you even consider leaving your car unguided. I’ve been going to game parks once a month since I can remember, I thought I was pretty good at reading an elephants behavior and it still took me by surprise when that elephant started charging, it’s proof that any wild animal can go from docile grazing to an aggressive threat in a split second.

If your still up for taking photos from outside the vehicle, I’m happy to inform you that you can sign up for guided walks with game rangers at most game parks
