Day 1: Arrival at Kotoka International Airport in Accra
- transfer to Biriwa Beach Hotel
in the Central region. The distance from the airport to the hotel is about
120 km and we will use 3 hours approximately.
Day 2: After breakfast tour discussion after which you will visit
the Elmina Castle and the Kakum National Park
Day 3: We drive towards Techiman where we will visit the Monkey Sanctuary
of Boabeng - Fiema.
Day 4: Early departure towards Mole
National Park stopping on the way by the Kintampo
Waterfall. Depending on road and weather conditions we
will reach the Mole National Park around 4pm where we will spend the next
2 nights. Safari through Mole National
Park
Day 5: Safari through the Mole
National Park.
Day 6: Early departure to Larabanga to visit the oldest Mosque
in Ghana after which we continue to Tamale - capital of Northern region,
where we will spend the night. In Tamale you can visit the arts market and
hunt for a bargain to purchase souvenirs.
Day 7: A very long day of about 12 hours of
traveling. We start the trip by heading towards Makongo to join the Ferry which we will board to cross the
Volta lake to Yeji. On the way we stop at Salaga, the biggest Slave Market
in Africa site during the Slave Trade. From Yeji we drive to Lake Bososmtwe
near Kumasi where we will spend the night. On the way we stop at a typical
Beer Bar for refreshments.
Day 8: We drive to Kumasi
where we shall visit the Palace and the Market. In the afternoon we
set off towards the Western Region.
Day 9: After breakfast we board a
local canoe and spend several hours exploring the mangrove jungle of the
Ankobra River. We make
a stop in a little village along the river where we will refresh ourselves
with fresh coconuts.
Day 10: We spend the day on the
freshwater Lake Amansuri. After rowing through an area of marshes,
carpets of water lilies and mangrove jungle for 5 km we get to the
village of Nzulesu built
entirely on stilts. We get back to our hotel in the early evening.
Day 11:
In the early hors of the
morning we set off towards the Ivory Coast Border to the Ankasa
Reserve. This is a unique rainforest which is regarded as having the
greatest biodiversity of any reserve in Ghana. In the afternoon we
return to the Biriwa Beach Hotel.
Day 12:
Free Beach Day
Day 13: After breakfast we leave our
hotel and set off to a sight seeing tour of Accra
after which we have lunch at the Country Kitchen. a typical Ghanaian
Restaurant. Here we have our last Ghanaian Lunch 9 they serve continental
dishes as well ). After lunch we leave for the Kotoka International
Airport where our journey ends and we say Good Bye
